| Sri Sai Ram Polytechnic College has been established in the year of 1996-97 by Leo Muthu Educational Trust with the intention of bringing technical education to both urban and rural students. Since it runs with the principles of Shirdi Sai Baba, the institution is aptly and appropriately named after 'Sri Sai Ram' whose motto is to serve the people without any prejudice to caste, creed or religion.

| The institution is situated in the permanent site at Sai Leo Nagar, Poonthandalam, West Tambaram, Chennai - 600 044, which is very close to the Kishkinta Amusement Park near to Hyundai car company and several other big projects which are to come up in the near future. The location of the institution is lush greenery, calm, serene and suitable for deep study.

| The institution has a ward system through which individual care is given to each student by the concerned staff member who is their warden. Through this system, a close link is established and maintained between the warden the students and the warden does his/her best to solve even the personal problems of their wards by proper counseling. Special coaching is provided for the weaker students in the evening and on holidays.
